    Item Feedback:

    Preliminary operation

Before getting to the heart of the tutorial and discovering, together, how to uninstall google chrome, I recommend that you make an online backup of all your browser data and settings: in this way, in case of second thoughts, you can reinstall the program and find all your data (bookmarks, extensions, etc.) in their place. The online backup function should be activated by default if you are logged in with a Google account, in any case it is better to check.

If you are using Chrome on your computer, you can check the activation of the data and settings backup function by clicking on yours profile picture located at the top right and selecting the item Synchronization with [your Gmail address] from the menu that opens. Next, go on Synchronization and move up ON the function lever Synchronize everything (otherwise choose which data to sync individually using the options below).

If you have not yet associated Chrome with a Google account, press the icon oflittle man located at the top right of the browser toolbar and presses the button Turn on synchronization present in the box that appears on the screen. Once logged in, check the synchronization settings as explained above.

On smartphones and tablets, the procedure to follow is different. If you use Chrome on Android, go to the menu Settings> Accounts> Google of your device, select yours Gmail indirizzo and make sure the option for Chrome is active (otherwise you activate it).

It was used iPhone o iPadinstead, presses the button (...) located at the bottom right and select the item Settings from the menu that appears. On the page that opens, choose yours Gmail indirizzo, then the voice Synchronization and, if necessary, move up ON the lever for the option Synchronization (or the levers relating to the individual data to be synchronized).

If you have not yet associated a Google account with your Android device or your iPhone / iPad, follow the instructions in my tutorials on how to associate an Android phone with Google and how to configure Gmail on iPhone.

How to uninstall Google Chrome from mobile

Chrome is a very versatile browser and is available not only for all major desktop platforms, but also for smartphones and tablets. After having seen how to remove the browser from the computer, therefore, let's see how to perform the same operation from smartphones (and tablets) using the most popular operating systems in the mobile field: Android e iOS.

    Android

Being a browser developed by Google (which is the same company that develops Android), Chrome is included "as standard" in many devices animated by the operating system of the green robot. Therefore, it cannot be uninstalled in the true sense of the word, but only deactivated, so as not to take up too much space on the memory and not to appear in the list of apps available on the device.

disable Chrome on your smartphone (or tablet) Android, go to the menu Settings of the device (thegear icon located on the home screen or in the drawer, i.e. in the screen with the list of all the apps installed on the device) and select the item App from the latter.

At this point, choose Chrome from the list of applications installed on the terminal and first presses the button disable e poi quello Deactivate app. If you are asked if you want to clear the app data, confirm.

Mission accomplished! Chrome is now disabled and no longer appears in the list of applications installed on Android. If you change your mind, you can reactivate the browser by returning to the menu Impostazioni> App Android, selecting it from the list of available applications and pressing the button Attiva.

If you have a rooted device, you can completely uninstall Chrome from your device and not just disable it using applications like Terminal Emulator. The procedure, however, is quite complex and unnecessarily risky: if you want some advice, be content to disable Chrome and do not try to remove it completely from your device, otherwise the system will become unstable. And if you are convinced you want to proceed, consult my tutorial on how to uninstall system apps: there you will find everything you need to know about the procedure explained.

    iPhone

If you have one iPhone (or a iPad), you can uninstall Chrome by simply doing a prolonged tap on its icon on the home screen, by pressing the button (X) which appears at the top left in correspondence with the latter and responding Delete notice that appears on the screen.

Alternatively, if you want to delete Chrome from your device but not the browser data (in view of its possible reinstallation), go to the menu Settings> General> iPhone Free Space (o Free iPad space) of iOS, select the icon of Chrome from the list of apps on the device and press on the option Uninstall app. If any steps are not clear to you, in my tutorial on how to uninstall apps from iPhone you will find all the answers you need.
