Facebook introduced support for Chromecast and Apple TV, first on the web and iOS, then on Android. What is it for? To stream the videos published on the social network on your home TV. But something is going wrong on Google's mobile system ...
Facebook has been trying to narrow the gap with for a long time YouTube on the terrain of the videos. And the solution has finally arrived with Chromecast and Apple TV support. The process is very simple: just tap the TV-shaped button to the right of a video's progress bar - both on the browser and on the app - to instantly send the video to the big TV screen. A no-brainer except that, recently, Android users have found themselves struggling with an annoying notification that there is no way to close.
Boring notification that blocks everything
In the last few days, in fact, some Android users are "arguing" with this annoying notification window that pops up after using Facebook and watching any video. The window says "Cast Device Not Connected" and shows the button Play and the closing one, but neither of them responds to commands. The site Android Police found that the bug is caused by Facebook's incorrect handling of videos, but only in the official social network application (release 188.8.131.52.70).
How to solve the problem?
(taken from Facebook)
There are at least three antidotes to the annoying problem before the Facebook team rushes to fix it by releasing an ad hoc update. The first is to use "brute force": to force the Facebook application to close. The second trick is to install, or maybe go back, to the beta version of Facebook - codenamed Katana - which doesn't seem affected by this annoying inconvenience. to the page from which to download the application, press the button "Become a Beta Tester"- Become a beta tester - to receive approval from the social network. You can, in any case, download it from this address. The last possibility is to opt for Facebook Lite - the release developed for emerging markets and not officially available for cittàn users - but which you can download from this address.
